How-do-you-do folks,
Just bought 6D mkII and sigma 24-105 fine art lens (thank you to thanksgiving deal). After initial set up i noticed that the lens wouldn't focus on the object correct abroad (no autofocus during initial phase - say 1min or so) afterwards I switch on the 6d. I take to use its focusing ring to arrive work. After some time information technology starts working well. Has anyone hither experienced such affair before? If so, what was the result and the ready? I didn't observe this issue when i used 50mm on the new trunk. May exist canon on catechism worked well.
Whatsoever insight on this matter would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Seems strange. Maybe the lens firmware needs to be updated.

I would update the lens firmware. Did you lot go the USB Dock with the lens? If non, I suggest getting it. You volition be able to "tune" the lens with it. They're only about $50 I recollect. Tuning the lens means that you tin can set up where information technology focuses (more to the rear or front of the object), when zoomed in, zoomed out, and in the mid range of the zoom. You can also switch information technology to various levels of precision for focusing speed vs focusing accuracy. Of form you can update the firmware too, which may exist your problem right now. Sigma volition update it for you, no incertitude, but aircraft it is likely to exist a hassle, and you never know what'south going to happen to your lens when it's out of your hands. I'd try to avoid the aircraft solution, and become the useful USB Dock.

Only so you lot are aware, I believe that the micro-focus aligning is unnecessary when using a mirrorless camera. Yet, the USB Dock will be useful for updating the firmware and making adjustments to focus speed, image stabilization settings, etc.

The lens is simply non working as it should. If it's still under warranty, return it and insist on a replacement.
